چکیده

Microplastics are of increasing interest as one the most important threats to natural environment and aquatic life. One main pathways microplastics entering terrestrial wastewater treatment plants. The aim this study was investigate occurrence removal MPs in both sludge from an MBR-based a WWTP. focus is on amount emitted into environment, efficiency plants how their operation design, could be improved reduce presence these pollutants effluent. results showed that influent (SI) had mean concentration 507 ± 70 L-1, reactor tank (SRS) increases 1.77 × 107 1.61 kg-1 (dw) permeate (SP) estimated decreased 1.58 1.08 L-1. This 99.69%, with respect average MPs. After clarifier (SC) sand filtration (SSF) 17.38 4.71 L-1 2.93 1.50 respectively were found, resulting 96.58% 99.42%, respectively, regarding inlet water plant. two predominant forms all samples (except for SCS) fragments fibers. In total 25 types polymers detected, only 5 resulted samples, detected polymer families Acrylates Polyethylenes.

Nitrogen Removal and N20 Emission in a Full-Scale Domestic Wastewater Treatment Plant with Intermittent Aeration

Nitrous oxide (NzO) is emitted from wastewater treatment processes. It is known as a greenhouse gas that contributes to global warming (over 200 times more per molecule than carbon dioxide) and to the destruction of the ozone layer. It is therefore of great importance to develop technology that can suppress N20 emission. The effects of an anoxic period on NzO emission and nitrogen removal were ...

Nitrogen Removal in a Full-Scale Domestic Wastewater Treatment Plant with Activated Sludge and Trickling Filter

During the last decade, more stringent effluent requirements concerning the nutrients effluent values have been imposed by legislation and social concern. In this study, efficiency of total nitrogen removal in activated sludge and trickling filter processes (AS/TF) was investigated in Tehran North wastewater treatment plant. Biological system in this site was included, anoxic selector tank, aer...

Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) as an Advanced Wastewater Treatment Technology

The development and application of a membrane bioreactor (MBR) for fullscale municipal wastewater treatment is the most important recent technological advance in terms of biological wastewater treatment. The MBR is a suspended growth-activated sludge system that utilizes microporous membranes for solid/liquid separation instead of secondary clarifiers. It represents a decisive step forward conc...

Performance evaluation of a full-scale ABS resin manufacturing wastewater treatment plant: a case study in Tabriz Petrochemical Complex

Background: The measurement data regarding the influent and effluent of wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) provides a general overview, demonstrating an overall performance of WWTP. Nevertheless, these data do not provide the suitable operational information for the optimization of individual units involved in a WWTP. A full-scale evolution of WWTP was carried out in this study via a r...

Seasonal variations of microbial community in a full scale oil field produced water treatment plant

This study investigated the microbial community in a full scale anaerobic baffled reactor and sequencing batch reactor system for oil-produced water treatment in summer and winter. The community structures of fungi and bacteria were analyzed through polymerase chain reaction–denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis and Illumina high-throughput sequencing, respectively. Chemical oxygen demand eff...
